Energy Efficiency

How much will I save on my energy bills by upgrading my insulation and air sealing my home?
More and more, homeowners are staying in their homes longer. Depending on the amount of air leakage in your home and the quality of your current insulation, you can save up to 30% on your energy bills by upgrading your insulation and sealing air leaks

Is foam insulation the best choice to make my home more energy efficient?
Foam insulation is the most effective type of insulation for saving energy and stopping air leaks. It can be installed throughout a home. With its advanced technology, foam insulation is a premium priced product. Many homeowners choose to install foam insulation in attics and air seal with foam, and use fiberglass and other insulation in walls and other cavities. This option saves the homeowner money while dramatically increasing the energy efficiency of the home.

How does a blower door test work?
A blower door test determines the cubic feet per minute (“CFM”) at which air moves through your home. By creating a vacuum in the home, the HERS rater can determine the CFM of your home, and the best way to seal the leaks, saving money on your energy bills. Often homeowner will choose to pre and post test their home to see the improvement in their home’s CFM after reinsulating and air sealing.
